Greenfinch Closes Out a Busy July with Major Wins, New Projects, and Gold Medal Glory

Greenfinch rounds off a packed and productive July with a series of exciting developments across the UK, from successful planning applications and building warrant submissions to early. stage engagement on future projects. The momentum continues to build as our team handles a high volume of enquiries and brings client visions closer to reality.

This month saw us holding a pre-application meeting with a local authority in Essex, further expanding our reach across England. In Dumfries, we submitted two full planning applications, helping clients progress their rural and tourism-led development ambitions. Meanwhile, building warrant applications were submitted in South Lanarkshire and Benbecula, supporting both new builds and restoration works as they prepare to move on-site.

We were also pleased to complete a pre-application process and secure a full planning approval, a testament to the team’s proactive approach, thorough preparation, and client-focused delivery. With multiple additional applications now in progress, and fresh enquiries coming in every week, the second half of the year is shaping up to be even busier than the first.

On a personal note, we’re incredibly proud of our very own Ben Newton, who brought home a gold medal representing Team GB at the FISU World University Games in the Men’s 8+. Balancing elite level sport with planning consultancy work is no small feat, and this win speaks to the dedication and drive we bring to every project, on and off the water.

“It’s been a whirlwind of a month from council meetings and planning submissions to watching one of our own stand on top of a podium,” said Tom Woof. “We’re excited by the range of projects we’re supporting right now, and we’re committed to continuing that momentum as we move into August.”

With so many exciting applications in the pipeline and approved projects now progressing toward delivery, the whole team is energised by what lies ahead. Whether it's modular tourism units, rural diversification, or community-driven development, Greenfinch remains committed to providing honest, responsive, and practical planning advice.
